Cihou Fort

It is located at the top of Cihou mountain and was certificated as a national monument in 2019.It was built in late Qing dynasty and the shape of it looks like a rectangle with barracks, command area, ammunition storage area and barbette inside the building. You can see the wing wall which was made by red bricks with totem on the door pillar- “Wei Jhen Tian Nan” to represent the meaning dominating the South”. It might be the first fort which was built with Chinese architectural thought and western technology in the history of modern Taiwan.
